Crammed with the imperceptible homeless who can’t afford proper accommodation, the Magic Castle – a garishly painted motel in the shadow of Walt Disney World’s bustling Magic Kingdom – is the unappealing world struggling single mother Halley and her mischievous six-year-old daughter Moonee call home. Nevertheless, in wide-eyed Moonee’s eyes, this place is a magical playground of endless adventure and a blissful utopia. Will she ever know that the illusion of a carefree life always comes at a high price? Sooner or later, as Halley takes increasingly dangerous risks to eke out an existence, childhood’s reckless transgressions and an inevitable ugly confrontation will attempt to blemish the sacred mother-and-daughter idyll.
