Dina Duma for KVIFF.TV: I made use of my own memories of secondary school.
The young Macedonian director Dina Duma presented the world premiere of her film
Sisterhood at 55th KVIFF. The story of the apparently unbreakable bond between
two adolescent girls, who are forced to face the consequences of their
manipulative behviour, was one of the works in the running in the
festival’s East of the West competition. It is inspired by real events at the
secondary school that Duma attended. In an interview, the director speaks about
the challenges she had to overcome in bringing her debut to the screen.
